Robert Cursor was a spectral reformatted to be a sprite that lived in the Spectral System. Spectrals are not capable of rebooting, so when Game Cubes began entering the system, a small group of spectrals volunteered to be reformatted into sprites so they could fight the Games.
The new sprites called themselves the Hero Selective. Cursor is the leader of the Heroes. Other members of the Hero Selective are Pixel, Powerlock, Copy Girl, Feline, Email, Gigagirl, and Cold Boot. When they were not allowed to return to being Spectrals, the Heroes stopped fighting Games and let the Cubes damage the system.
The Hero Selective's headquarters is the Hard Drive, a cave hidden in the mountains surrounding the city.
Matrix and AndrAIa entered the system by a Game Cube and helped the Spectrals and Heroes resolve their differences. Matrix thought Robert might be Bob but was proven wrong; they simply looked similar. Robert had never even heard of Guardians.
When they started working together, they found that Powerlock and one of the Spectrals were actually viruses in disguise. They were planning to destroy the system, but the Spectrals and Hero Selective captured the Spectral Virus and questioned him. The Spectral Virus wouldn't identify his brother, but they soon found out it was Powerlock. They fought Powerlock in the Principal Office and deleted him, but not before Powerlock caused a piece of the ceiling to fall on Robert Cursor. After hearing they had saved the system he was deleted.
