Erasure is a method of software overwriting that completely destroys all electronic data residing on a hard drive.

Erasing is completely permanent, with no way of retrieving the information. Deletion is sometimes reversible, however, a person can go from deleted to erased if the data that made them up becomes irretrievable.

If a person goes through a tear, they will be erased. (The Tearing)
