Cathy Weseluck

Cathy Weseluck (born 21, August, 1970; also known as Cathy Weseluk) is a Canadian voice actress known on ReBoot for providing the voice of Backup in the season 3 episode Icons.

Weseluck was born 21 August 1970 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She works for distributing companies FUNimation and Marathon Productions. She is credited with providing the voice for characters in various anime series. Cathy Weseluck is also known for providing the voice of Mirai Yashima (Mobile Suit Gundam), Dorothy Catalonia and Catherine Bloom (Gundam Wing), Near (Death Note), Kagome's mother (InuYasha), Misa Takatsuki (Project Arms), and Chaotzu and Puuar (Dragonball Z, Season One), among many others. In addition to her voice-over work, Cathy is also a voice instructor and voice director.

In both InuYasha and Hamtaro, Cathy provides the voice for the mother of Moneca Stori's character. In InuYasha, Cathy provides the voice for Mrs. Higurashi, the mother of Kagome Higurashi, who is voiced by Moneca Stori. In Hamtaro, Cathy provides the voice for Marian Haruna, the mother of Laura Haruna, who is also voiced by Moneca Stori.

Cathy has been involved in many television series including "Kidô senshi Gandamu" (1979); "Ranma ½" .... Shampoo (4 episodes, 1989); Doragon bôru Z 3: Chikyû marugoto chô kessen (1990); The Wizard of Oz (1991); "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" (1993); "Kimba the White Lion" (1994); "Dragon Ball Z" (1996-1998); Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie (1998); "The Outer Limits" (2000); "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing" (2000); Inuyasha - Jidai wo koeru omoi (2001); Barbie in the Nutcracker (2001); "Storm Hawks" (2007) and most recently "RollBots" in 2009.

Cathy has a passion for philosophy, art, traveling, poetry and golfing and plays a mean game of ping-pong! She was also high school Valedictorian.

Her first role as a voice-over performer in the animation industry was her performance of 'Bessie the Goose' in "Kissyfur", which was recorded as a promo, but never went to air as a series.

Has an honours music degree and a minor in Sociology and originally set out to become a composer for film and TV documentary. When she worked as an Associate Producer for CBC Radio in Vancouver the host of the show, Jurgen Gothe, suggested she try her hand at "voice-over". Her v.o. career then began with 21 radio spots for Vancouver Centre Mall.
